Sherazade

A Beauty shot of the B-24D “Sherazade” of the 425th Bomb Squadron, 308th Bomb Group, Fourteenth Air Force in China. She was named after the character in the film Arabian Nights. Based at Kunming, China for much of 1943 the 308th Bomb Group had the biggest aera of operations ranging from the Chinese coast to Rangoon. It was the sole heavy bomber force of Maj. Gen. Claire Chennault’s Fourteenth Air Force. “Sherazade” was the lead ship of seven B-24s of the 425th BS on its faithful mission to Hankow on 24 August 1943.
