Towards Rangoon

The scene depicts the B-24D 'Sittin' Bull' of the 7th BG on her 51st mission in September 1943 towards Rangoon. Rangoon was the prime target of the 7th BG, 10th AF in the CBI theatre. For most of 1943 the 7th BG flew these long range missions without fighter escorts. After 55 missions the 'Sittin' Bull' was renamed 'Rangoon Rambler' and sent back home with a tour-expired sratch cew for a war bond tour especially for the CBI theatre.

The B-24 is one of my favourite planes. Hope you like it.
